Una promessa / A promise

Come questa piantina cela tra le spine la promessa di un fiore, anch'io celo in me la speranza di portare a termine un progetto in cui mi sto impegnando tanto. Ormai dovrebbe essere questione di giorni, perciò presto tornerò davvero a scrivere con più frequenza.
Intanto dedico questo piccolo pensiero quasi floreale a tutte voi, per ringraziarvi di tutto il supporto che mi date con le vostre visite e i vostri commenti.

As this small plant hides the promise of a flower amid its thorns , I'm hiding in me the hope to complete a project that I'm really committed to. It should be a matter of days, so I'll really get back soon to more frequent updates.
In the meantime here's a little almost flowery gift for you all, to thank you for the support you give me through your visits and comments.

And here's the Dragon! / Ecco il Drago!

Remember the Dragon Tail scarf/shawl I began some time ago? Well, last week I managed to finish it, and I'm oh so proud of it. Not only it's my first Tunisian crochet project, but it also turned out great, big and cosy and oh so soft (this thanks to the lovely yarn Géraldine sent me, Phil Bambou Laine by Phildar). It is 2 m long from tip to tip and 45 cm wide by the last scale, and the last row counts 110 stitches, which are quite a lot... : ) As I already wrote I strongly recommend this if you want to try Tunisian crochet, it's easy, good fun and you get a nice original item to wear. You might find this tutorial by Julia Marquardt helpful, but if you want to get one that's exactly like mine you have to change the pattern a little bit: I followed the instructions by a great designer, MariaGrazia Berno , who modified it a bit in order to obtain a scarf/shawl that curls up more. Yule

These are the days of Yule, a very special time of the year for most of us, when the Light is reborn and back in our lives. So even if the Solstice is gone, I still want to wish you all to have some wonderful days ahead, whatever you celebrate, and a happy 2015! I'll be back... well, next year, so have some great holidays, and talk to you in 2015! Questi sono i giorni di Yule, un momento dell'anno speciale per molti di noi, giorni in cui la Luce ritorna nelle nostre vite. Allora, anche se il Solstizio è passato, voglio augurarvi di passare dei bellissimi giorni, qualunque ricorrenza celebriate, e anche un felice anno nuovo! Io tornerò a scrivere... beh, l'anno prossimo, quindi buone vacanze, ci sentiamo nel 2015!

For Ireland, and Ireland only...

... The harp, the Shamrock, Green, white and gold... I almost never write about my love for Celtic culture, I don't really know why; but it's somethind deep rooted in my spirit, a connection that only grows stronger as years go by. I had the chance to write my bachelor's degree thesis about W. B. Yeats and the Celtic elements within the folk traditions of Éire, a few years back, and thanks to this I got to know Irish culture much better than I did, though I still haven't had the occasion to visit the place. Needless to say, I love everything related: mythology, folklore, traditions... Plus, I absolutely love green, so: a few years later, here's my tiny tribute to the Emerald Isle of Éire, or Ireland, if you wish. : ) What do you think? I know it's simple looking (and simple to make, in fact), but I really like the way it turned out, and I'm quite proud of my shamrocks all around...
