Free pattern and memories / Schema gratuito e ricordi

Hello everybody! I've been away from my blog for quite some time, and I can't say it's been a pleasant couple of weeks. I'm back to share with you the instructions for the baby cardigan I showed you in my latest post. I made that cardigan for the nephew of one of my Granny's dearest friend. She loved it very much, but unfortunately she couldn't give it to her friend, as my Granny got sick and passed away last week.  I'm very far from being over it and still can't manage to find some decent words in her memory.  The best thing that came to my mind is this: I thought I'd share with you the pattern of this item. Granny was an avid knitter and was oh so proud of me when I told her I finally learnt how to knit, so I hope this sharing will make her smile. Let me know if the instructions are clear enough, and of course if you decide to knit one yourself tell me how it comes out! Please remember my source: http://luisafelice.blogspot.it/2011...

Finished! / Finito!

Hello ladies! How was your weekend? Hope it all goes well! I'm here to show my finally finished baby cardigan, remember ? I've already told you about the wool I used in my latest post, so I won't bore you any longer - just a quick note: if you happen to find it and you've got some knitting baby project in mind definitely try it out! It's thin but grows quickly, it's incredibly soft and it took me less than 100 g on 3.5 mm needles to finish this cardigan, which should fit a 6 months old. Ciao a tutte! Com'è andato il fine settimana? Spero tutto bene!

Snowflakes finally came tumbling down from the dark skies yesterday, and as the snow was falling outside I was knitting with snowflakes inside. Take a look at this wool I found: it's Silke's Baby Neve ("neve" means "snow"), and its otherwise pretty flat color is embellished with these little woolly snowflakes. Isn't it cute?  I bought it in order to make something for a newborn girl, and I had originally planned to crochet this; unfortunately I found out that it turns really thick when worked with a hook. So... yeah, knitting. What a joke. Have I been to ambitious when I decided to knit a cardigan? You bet! I had no idea where to start, and now that I started I have no idea where to go, but I think I'll figure it out on the way... hopefully! I did lots of research to get the right measures and went through some trouble to find them, but finally made it; I decided to knit a bigger cardigan (about 6 months) so she may be able to wear it a little...
